Nuno Líbano Monteiro speaks to Jornal de Negócios about Insolvencies

Nuno Líbano Monteiro, partner in charge of PLMJ’s litigation practice area, has spoken to the newspaper Jornal de Negócios about the case of Papelaria Fernandes (a well-know Portuguese stationery chain) and the tendency to delay requests for insolvency on the part of failing companies. Monteiro believes that “because of the lack of training of agents, perhaps for cultural reasons, there is a tendency for insolvency requests to be made too late”. In recent years, specialist Monteiro has worked on similar situations. The most recent case was with the cooperative Alicoop, owner of the Alisuper supermarkets, which stands out as a good example finding a solution for a company on the brink of failure.
