PLMJ among the best European law firms for financial law

02/03/2015

PLMJ is among the finalists for the awards of the prestigious British publication International Financial Law Review (IFLR). PLMJ is on the shortlist for best law firm in the financial area in Portugal. It is also on the shortlist for “Deal of the Year” in private equity (capital markets), a category that is traditionally dominated by the larger global law firms.

The Euronext IPO operation handled by PLMJ in cooperation with international law firms Linklaters, Loyens & Loeff, Shearman & Sterling, Stibbe and Willkie Farr & Gallagher, is one of the candidates for the “Deal of the Year” award in Equity Capital Markets.

The work done by PLMJ’s capital markets team in advising on the acquisition of NYSE Euronext by Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) and the subsequent IPO launched by the ICE Group contributed to this nomination.

For Jorge Brito Pereira, the partner who heads PLMJ’s capital markets practice “It is a great achievement to be nominated in this category, together with Europe’s best law firms. In an increasingly competitive market, these nominations and awards, given by independent organisations are an important benchmark and pubic and international recognition of PLMJ’s positon as a leading business law firm.”

The IFLR awards honour law firms for their work on the most innovative deals of the year on a national and international level in the areas of M&A, capital markets and financial law. The awards will be presented at a ceremony in London on 16 April.
