PLMJ managing partner Luís Pais Antunes has answered the following question raised by the newspaper Diário Económico: "Does Spanish control of banks favour Iberian law firms?". "Regardless of how great or small the phenomenon of consolidation in the Portuguese banking sector is, the growing ties between the Portuguese and Spanish markets is a situation we have lived with for many years, and one we will continue to live with. This does not necessarily mean that what are known as 'Iberian law firms' will continue to grow in importance, nor that law firms that are either 100% Spanish or 100% Portuguese will be less important", explains PLMJ's managing partner .
