PLMJ wins lawsuit against the Portuguese State in the European Court for slow administration of justice in Portugal

PLMJ’s European law and competition practice has won a case against the Portuguese State for the excessive delay in the administration of justice. The European Court of Human Rights’ (ECHR) verdict held that the claimants should receive compensation of EUR 390,000 for the delay in the administration of justice in a case relating to a dismissal which is before the Portuguese courts. Partner José Luís da Cruz Vilaça, senior associate Sara Estima Martins and associate Sara Carvalho de Sousa, advised on this case.
