Interview

"Labour legislation cannot be subject to political tactics"

07/04/2025, ADVOCATUS
In an interview with Advocatus powered by ECO, Nuno Ferreira Morgado spoke about the current labour market in Portugal, including salary transparency, artificial intelligence (AI), and remote working.

The partner and co-head of the firm’s Employment and Labour said it was important for Portugal to become a more attractive country and to "create conditions for a foreign investor to be interested in entering the country and creating jobs", as opposed to the current offer of "outdated, extraordinarily rigid, bureaucratic legislation, which is incomprehensible…".

On AI, he mentioned the need to "create programmes that encourage people to learn how to use these new tools" for continuous improvement, recognising that "there will always be impacts, but the expectation is that opportunities will outweigh those impacts."
