European Court strikes down Safe Harbor decision and strengthens powers of national regulators
08/10/2015On 6 October 2015, the Court of Justice of the European Union ruled that decision 2000/520/CE of the European Commission is invalid. This decision had determined that the transfer of data to the United States under the Safe Harbor principles guaranteed an adequate level of protection for personal data.
