Resignation of the government: the impact on pending legislation

The rejection of the motion of confidence tabled by the 24th Constitutional Government led to its resignation in March 2025. This was followed by a decision by the President of the Republic to dissolve Parliament. 

The fall of the government affected the progress or conclusion of ongoing legislative processes, particularly in the areas of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence (AI) and data.

Given the expiry of these proposals, they will have to be renewed at the beginning of the new parliamentary term.
