Ana Teresa Serafino, an associate from PLMJ TMT, has written an opinion article entitled "The Right to Personal Data Portability: a new right for data subjects and a new challenge for data processors" for IT Channel, a monthly IT magazine.
In the article, the PLMJ associate addresses the new European General Data Protection Regulation, which comes into force May 2018 and gives data subjects a new right: data portability.
Ana Teresa points out that the "new right to portability improves the ways data subjects can use their data. However, it also introduces and responsibilities for data processors, and these need to be considered by companies as they prepare for the entry into force of the new Regulation".
