António Maria Pereira member of an Arbitration Court within the scope of the Casa Pia Case

The mission regarding which the Arbitration Court, instituted for the purpose of estimating the amount of the indemnity for damages to the Casa Pia Case victims, was assigned to, came to an end.

António Maria Pereira, PLMJ Senior Partner and Founder,was one of the  three  Arbitrators designated for  this  task, with  whom, along a number of ten Court  sessions, analyzed the fifty Proceedings which were brought to court.

After the Hearing of tenths of witnesses, the Court attributed the maximum indemnity for damages ( 50.000 Euros, each) to 47 of the  Plaintiffs.

The role played by this Arbitration Court was highly praised by innumerous sources both for the contents of the decision and for the efficiency of the Court’s performance.
