Financial Times places PLMJ at the top of the Most Innovative European Law Firms, rising 14 places to 28th in the ranking of the Best European Law Firms

For the second consecutive time, PLMJ features in the Financial Times’ ranking of the 50 Best European Law Firms, rising 14 places to 28th in the list of the most innovative law firms in Europe, and is ranked 6th in the list of continental European law firms. PLMJ is the highest ranking Portuguese law firm in the FT Innovative Lawyers rankings, which recognises, in particular, innovation and originality. In the second year in which the FT has analysed the Portuguese market, PLMJ has also been awarded for its internationalisation strategy: PLMJ International Legal Network which brings together offices in Angola, Mozambique, China, Macao, Brazil and Cape Verde – was the only Portuguese project among the finalists for the Award For Most Innovative Strategy For International Expansion. The FT Innovative Lawyers ranking 2012 was announced on Thursday in London, at a ceremony at the Natural History Museum and PLMJ was represented by co-managing partner and coordinator of the corporate and M&A practice, Manuel Santos Vitor, who shared the award with the whole team, emphasising that “this award is dedicated to all those who work in our offices in Portugal, Angola, Mozambique, China and Macau and in all our partner firms across the world and also to our clients who give us their unconditional support and trust”.

The principal objective of this ranking is to reward innovation and originality in the legal profession in real transactions and cases. It also aims to honour law firms’ management and development strategies. The classification given by the prestigious British newspaper translates into a clear sign of recognition of PLMJ’s capacity to innovate and go the extra mile to seek new legal solutions and think out of the box, under the motto “Driven by Innovation”, which served as the basis for PLMJ’s candidacy.
