Manuel Lopes Rocha, a partner in PLMJ and leader of the firm’s intellectual property team, is the author of an article entitled “Requirements for revocation of trademarks explained” published in the March online edition of World Trademark Review, in the section “Cancellations – National Procedures”.
In this article Rocha refers to the judgment of the Lisbon Court of Appeal in which confirmed the decision of the Lisbon Commercial Court in the action for revocation of a trademark between the company which owns the trademark CASA DE SAIMA and the owner of the trademark SAIMA, an action that was based on the non-use of the trademark by the latter for a continuous period of 5 years from the date of its registration at the INPI.
