PLMJ will be represented on the official visit of the President of the Republic, Professor Aníbal Cavaco Silva, to the People’s Republic of China and the Special Administrative Region of Macau, with the presence of Luís Sáragga Leal, PLMJ founding partner and head of the International Projectos Team and PLMJ China Desk. the visit takes place between 12 and 19 May.
For Luís Sáragga Leal, representing PLMJ on this presidential trip “is recognition of PLMJ’s presence in China and its importance in fostering economic and financial relations between Portugal and China”
As a response to the world economic situation and anticipating trends, in 2010 PLMJ signed a cooperation agreement with Dacheng Law Offices, the largest Chinese law firm, with offices in 34 cities including Hong Kong. This strategic partnership led to the establishment of a PLMJ China Desk working out of Dacheng’s offices in Beijing with a team made up of Chinese and Portuguese lawyers from PLMJ International Legal Network. This team, coordinated by Rita Assis Ferreira, provides legal services to Portuguese-speaking investors in China and private and state companies from China with investments in Portuguese language countries.
In Macau, PLMJ has had a strategic partnership with DSL Lawyers since 2009. DSL Lawyers is a leading and important Macau-based whose main objective is to provide specialist legal assistance on a formal and regular basis to companies and investors.
