PLMJ managing partner, Luís Sáragga Leal’s trip to Beijing was again featured in the Portuguese press. The issue was the PLMH partner’s statements on the interest of Chinese investors in the construction works for the new terminal and logistical park planned for the upgrading of the Port of Sines. This is the main port on Portugal’s Atlantic coast and the main gateway for the country’s energy supply (natural gas, coal, oil). The works planned for the port have raised “great interest in China, a country where state companies have “unbeatable lines of credit”, said Sáragga Leal in statements to the international press, adding that “Chinese companies are beginning to understand that they have every advantage in going to Portuguese-speaking countries in partnership with Portuguese companies ”, in particular Angola and Mozambique.
