MIFID Directive on debate at PLMJ

PLMJ Forum on the impact of the implementation of MIFID – the Market in Financial Instruments Directive – on financial intermediation in Portugal took place at the PLMJ Auditorium on 20th of April.  PLMJ Equity Partners Jorge Brito Pereira  and Maria Castelos participated on the Forum where the speakers were Sónia Teixeira da Mota, António Rocha Alves and Magda Viçoso,  PLMJ Lawyers as well. The Forum had also the benefit of the participation of Clifford Chance LLP, represented by Senior Partner Dermot Turing. Several national and international financial intermediaries operating in Portugal attended the Forum where the major issues raised in connection with the effective implementation by the financial intermediaries of the legislative and regulatory changes resulting from MIFID were thoroughly discussed.

During the Forum, PLMJ presented a plan to be implemented by the finance intermediaries, in order   to enable their activity to comply   with MIFID until the 1st of November
