PLMJ has once again been recognised by Chambers Global, with the highlight being the rise of the firm's Banking and Finance practice to Band 1. The practice is led by PLMJ partner André Figueiredo.
In addition to André Figueiredo, the team includes Bruno Ferreira, Gonçalo dos Reis Martins, Raquel Azevedo, Pedro Siza Veira and João Dias Lopes, and is described by clients interviewed by Chambers as "commercial while still providing the necessary degree of comfort and solidity in their legal advice". "The lawyers are very responsive and attentive to clients' needs and concerns".
The other practice areas analysed by Chambers Global maintained their top rankings: Capital Markets in Band 1, Corporate M&A in Band 1, Dispute Resolution in Band 1 and Projects in Band 2.
In the results for individual lawyers, PLMJ received a number of nominations, of which seven individual placements stand out: André Figueiredo topped the table in Capital Markets and Bruno Ferreira moved up to Band 2 in Banking and Finance.
Nuno Líbano Monteiro, senior partner in the Dispute Resolution practice, was named a Senior Statesperson in Dispute Resolution. From the same team, Carla Góis Coelho moved up to Band 5. João Marques Mendes moved up to Band 4 in Projects.
In the analysis of international partnerships, PLMJ Colab Angola - RVA Advogados maintained its ranking (Band 2), as did the PLMJ desks in Angola and Mozambique (Band 2).
