The PLMJ Foundation presents the book “Punctum: Photographs from the PLMJ Foundation Collection”, which provides an overview of the PLMJ Foundation’s photographic collection, focusing its attention on recent acquisitions. This publication follows the PLMJ Foundation’s editorial policy of bringing attention to Portuguese contemporary art through works from to its collection. And so, following on from the series of titles dedicated to video, to the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s, the PLMJ Foundation now launches a volume dedicated to the photographs in its collection. This book by Miguel Amado, the PLMJ Foundation’s commissioner, brings together 90 works by 50 different both established and emerging artists. Among the names present, Daniel Blaufuks, João Pedro Vale, Manuel Botelho, Paulo Catrica and Paulo Nozolino stand out, together with Beatriz Albuquerque, Catarina Botelho, Rita GT, Sara & André and Susana Gaudêncio. With this project, the PLMJ Foundation once again fulfills its mission to put a spotlight on the latest in Portuguese culture.

The PLMJ Foundation supports Portuguese art by developing a collection that represents contemporary art and promotes exhibitions, books and other projects. The collection of the PLMJ Foundation includes works in a variety of formats from painting, drawing and sculpture to photography and video. The collection includes not only established artists but also those at the beginning of their careers and the work done by the PLMJ Foundation is groundbreaking in the field of Portuguese art collections.
