PLMJ PRomotes 5 Partners

In line with the policy of organic growth that characterises PLMJ, the Portuguese largest law firm has promoted five new partners – three equity partners and 2 non-equity partners. The promotions were made in recognition of the merit, quality, high level of specialisation and leadership capacity of these lawyers.

Promoted to equity partner were the Lawyers: Sofia Gomes da Costa (from PLMJS’s real estate practice area and responsible for the biggest real estate operation in Portugal in 2009, the purchase of Torre do Oriente and more recently for the acquisition of the new headquarters of the AXA group), Ricardo Oliveira (from the EU law and competition practice area who recently represented Eurest in regulatory proceedings before the competition authority, to date, the biggest case of its type in Portugal, Ricardo Oliveira is also head of PLMJ’s international relations group) and Vasco Ataíde Marques (head of PLMJ’s german desk, group of corporate and M&A lawyers specialising in giving advice to German speaking clients. He is also responsible for the development of PLMJ’s Central and Eastern European platform and led a number of major M&A operations such as the sale of the Plus network to Jerónimo Martins).

Becoming non-equity partners were Filipe Azóia (from the employment practice area and a specialist in pharmaceutical law having been the legal director of Infarmed) and Luís Miguel Urbano (from the corporate and M&A practice area and a specialist in foreign investment as well as author of the Macau civil code).
