PLMJ Tax Team - VAT Decrease Within the Retail Sector

PLMJ’s equity partner and the  leader of the firm’s tax law team, Rogério M. Fernandes Ferreira, senior associate José Manuel Pedroso de Melo and associate Joana Lança, with the same team, are the authors, of the  article “vat decrease within the retail area“ published in the 4th of July issue of the Diário Económico.

The article, regarding the entry into force of the law that reduces the former vat 21% tax rate to 20%, upon analysing the imediate consequences of such reduction, comes to the conclusion that this decrease shall not bring consumers any benefit at all.
