PLMJ advises Minor International on Portugal’s largest ever hotel deal

 PLMJ was responsible for providing legal support to Minor International in the sale of three hotels located in Lisbon. The hotels in question were the Tivoli Avenida da Liberdade, Tivoli Oriente Lisbon and AVANI Avenida da Liberdade and they were sold to Invesco Real Estate in a transaction worth €313 million euros. This is the largest ever hotel deal Portugal.

PLMJ also advised the Minor group’s subsidiary, the NH Hotel Group, which will lease and operate the hotels for an initial period of 20 years. As a sale and lease deal, it is possible to transfer ownership of a property, but with the seller still being able to use it for a specified period.

The PLMJ team was led by Francisco Lino Dias, a partner from the real estate, planning and tourism practice, and included Abel de Barbosa Mendonça, a managing associate from the same practice, and Guilherme Seabra Galante, a senior associate from the Corporate M&A practice.
