PLMJ and the PLMJ Foundation are patrons of the new CAM at the Gulbenkian

PLMJ and the PLMJ Foundation have just signed an agreement with Gulbenkian to become the founding patrons of the new Centro de Arte Moderna (CAM).

The protocol formalising this partnership was signed by Bruno Ferreira, PLMJ Managing Partner, Eduardo Nogueira Pinto, Executive Chairman of the PLMJ Foundation, Nuno Ferreira Morgado, from the Board of Directors of the PLMJ Foundation, António Feijó, President of the Board of Directors of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, and Guilherme d'Oliveira Martins, Director of the Gulbenkian Foundation.

Bruno Ferreira: "We were very honoured and proud to be invited by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation to be one of the founding patrons of the new CAM, which is the country's biggest cultural project in several decades and which, in addition to being an absolutely extraordinary architectural project, will take the city and Portugal to a new level from the point of view of cultural programming".

Eduardo Nogueira Pinto: "The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation plays a vital role in the fields of art, knowledge and science, and this protocol is also inextricably linked to the history of PLMJ, which created the PLMJ Foundation more than 20 years ago, choosing culture as the focus of its patronage. Today, the Foundation's active role in promoting emerging culture in Portugal and Portuguese-speaking countries is clearly visible, with a collection of more than 1,400 works by over 500 artists and ongoing support for various cultural organisations and initiatives. This support for the Gulbenkian also reflects and reaffirms the PLMJ Foundation's commitment to culture and the community".

António Feijó, President of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, says that this partnership "is an important step towards increasing the impact of the new CAM's cultural and artistic initiatives and promoting access to new audiences. Partners such as PLMJ contribute to the Foundation's mission of presenting contemporary art and supporting new artists and culture in Portugal".
