Following the general meeting of partners, the law firm PLMJ is pleased to announce the appointment of three new partners and seven new managing associates.
According to PLMJ managing partner, Luís Pais Antunes, "firm has placed great importance on a policy of organic growth and recognition of the professional merit and technical and human qualities of our lawyers. The appointment of three new partners and seven new managing associates reflects our commitment to strengthening PLMJ in an increasingly competitive market, in which the talent, seniority and experience that characterise PLMJ’s lawyers make all the difference".
The excellence of the work done, and the daily contribution to the position and reputation of PLMJ in Portugal and abroad, have led the firm to make the following lawyers partners:
Besides the new partners, the following lawyers were made senior associates
This is yet another step in consolidating the strategy of PLMJ, which, over 50 years of history, has managed to build generation after generation of lawyers whose talent in the market is unmatched. It has achieved this through a culture of organic growth complemented by a policy of lateral hirings of professionals with enormous prestige and a high level of specialisation, while focusing keenly on young, dynamic teams.
This all approach is tailored to meet the needs of the market, which increasingly demands lawyers who have not only legal skills, but also the ability to coordinate and manage teams and projects, as well as creativity and the capacity to resolve problems.
With these promotions, PLMJ has strengthened its position as the largest law firm in Portugal, with a total of 281 lawyers, including 58 partners, who now work in more than 10 different countries.
The promotion of three new partners and seven new managing associates, who join the five new managing associates already announced, closes the current cycle of promotion of lawyers at PLMJ. In 2016, the firm’s lawyers had a remarkable year, with a growth in billing and revenue of over 10%. Those lawyers advised on merger, acquisition and private equity operations with a total value in excess of €3.25 billion, and handled significant and complex, domestic and cross-border litigation and arbitration matters. PLMJ has consolidated its leading position in the market and has strengthened its team and degree of seniority to ensure that 2017 will be an even better year in defending the rights and interests of its clients.
