PLMJ at the EPIS (Businessmen for Social Inclusion) Consultive Council

Nuno Brito Lopes in his capacity as president of the EPIS General Assembly Board and  in representation of PLMJ, in its capacity as a Founding Member of the Council,attended the first meeting of the EPIS Consultive Council, which took place the past 10th of December at the Pestana Palace Hotel.

The meeting counted with the presence and interventions of the Executive Secretary of State for Education, Prof. Jorge Pereira, of the members and the President of EPIS Board of Directors, Dr. João Rendeiro, of the  EPIS Scientific Council members and President, Prof José Manuel Canavarro, of the former Ministers for Education, Eng. Roberto Carneiro and Prof David Justino, of the Legal Assistant for the Republic Presidency, Dr Susana Toscano, and of variouos personalities and entities from the entrepreneurial, academic and  municipal “milieu”.

During the Meeting, updates on EPIS activity, causes for social exclusion and its geographical incidence in Portugal and, finally, the EPIS  publication "It is necessary to educate – A Manual  forTechnicists and Parents”  were presented.

EPIS’ main objective is to correspond to the appeal of the President of the Republic - the institution’s Member of Honour - for the active promotion within the civil society of social  inclusion, gathering as members the country’s main economical  and financial groups.
