PLMJ lawyers deal with €1 billion in real estate deals

The weekly newspaper Expresso recently interviewed Francisco Lino Days, a partner in PLMJ's Real Estate, Urban Planning and Tourism practice, about the results achieved by this practice area in 2019.

The review of the year by the newspaper focuses, in particular, on the types of deals and their overall values.

“It was a very good year and one that exceeded our expectations, because 2018 had already been fantastic, with property sales at levels we only see every 10 years or so. But 2019 was even better”, says the lawyer.

As to the prospects for 2020, he mentions that international investors “are beginning to reposition their investments and to consider whether it makes sense to invest in properties selling at €12,000/m2. In addition, there is a huge shortage of space. The new Urban Letting Rules are creating difficulties in what has been a trend: rehabilitation in the centre of the city.”
