Entitled ‘The (new) Portuguese crowdfunding regime’, the opinion article written by Manuel Santos Vítor and Pedro Menezes Cardoso was published on the website of the International Bar Association.
The article addresses the specifics of the rules introduced by Law 102/2015, which defines the legal rules on crowdfunding as a form of financing companies, or their operations and projects, by registering on electronic platforms accessible on the Internet. These platforms are used to raise investment tranches from one or more individual investors.
Founded in 1947, the International Bar Association is the leading international organisation of lawyers and law firms. Its mission is to promote reforms at legislative level and shape the future of the legal profession throughout the world.
