To further consolidate PLMJ's position in matters and clients with an eminently transactional profile, Teresa Madeira Afonso, who has been a partner in PLMJ's Corporate M&A practice for two years, will become one of the co-heads of the firm's Real Estate practice, alongside current head partners Rita Alarcão Júdice and Francisco Lino Dias.
With over 17 years' professional experience, Teresa's has focused on M&A and private equity transactions, with particular emphasis on the real estate, tourism and agro-industrial sectors, as well as corporate restructuring and insolvency.
Teresa Madeira Afonso, co-head of the firm's real estate practice: "It is a challenge that I take on with great enthusiasm and that I see as a continuation of the type of work that I did at PLMJ, when I was part of the Corporate M&A team, dealing with the major real estate transactions of the firm's clients. In terms of the work, the matters and the clients, it is a move that makes perfect sense for the firm and for my career. It will also be a great privilege to co-head such an exceptional team, together with Rita Alarcão Júdice and Francisco Lino Dias".
PLMJ managing partner Bruno Ferreira: "Our vision for the positioning of the firm is clear. It delivers results that are surpassed year after year and we will continue on this path. We want to have teams that not only have in-depth knowledge of the sector in which they operate, but are able to combine different areas of expertise and offer our clients the approach they are increasingly looking for and where we are positioned: a transactional profile and large, highly complex transactions. The combination of Rita Alarcão Júdice and Francisco Lino Dias' in-depth real estate knowledge with Teresa Madeira Afonso's corporate and M&A experience is the right fit.
