PLMJ strengthens its public law practice with the hiring of Miguel Neiva de Oliveira, a specialist in public procurement and administrative litigation

19/12/2012

PLMJ has recently strengthened its public law team, in a further investment in its capacity to respond to its clients’ needs. With his professional focus on public procurement and administrative litigation, Miguel Neiva de Oliveira moves from one of Oporto’s leading law firms where he focused on specialised work in these same areas. The new PLMJ senior associate has a strong academic background, having attended three postgraduate courses in different areas of administrative law, and he also attended a specialisation course in public procurement. All these studies were concluded at the University of Coimbra and at Universidade Católica. PLMJ’s public law team is led by partner Pedro Melo, with a master’s in administrative law from the University of Lisbon and his team has 4 partners among a total of 15 lawyers working on the various aspects of public law with extensive experience and strong ties to the academic world.  This addition to the public law team comes at a time when demand for work in this area has been growing significantly as a result of the reforms that are being implemented in a number of areas under State control and, in general, from the increase in administrative, judicial and arbitral litigation.
