PLMJ supports first team from a portuguese University to attend the” Viena Moot“and prepares the organization of its own “Moot Court”

PLMJ is  supporting the Portuguese Catholic University Law School “multinational team” which shall represent Portugal at the Villem C.Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot”, one of the most reputed international arbitration events.

The team is composed by one portuguese,  two greek, one polish, one lithonian and one north- american jurists,all of them currently attending the Portuguese Catholic University LL.M in International Trade and Business Law.

The event, dedicated to young jurists of reputed universities from all over the world, pretends to stimulate the practice and learning of International Commercial and Arbitration Law.

PLMJ Senior Associate Rita Assis Ferreira, with the Firm’s Litigation and Arbitration area of practice, shall be the Lawyer to accompany and render legal assistance to the Portugal team.

Besides the current support to the “Viena Moot”, PLMJ shall be organizing every year its own Moot Court for portuguese law students.

In declarations to the newspaper Jornal de Negócios regarding this subject, Nuno Morais Sarmento, PLMJ  Equity Partner with the Firm’s Litigation and Arbitration Area team, says that «the initial purpose of the project is to promote this kind of games among teams belonging to our universities in order to select the  portuguese representatives for such type of international events» but to promote as well «a greater use of the alternative means of dispute resolution and the discovery of new professional talents».
