TTR: PLMJ leads in M&A in Portugal

Transactional Track Record (TTR) has released its annual report for 2021 and PLMJ is ranked as the leader in number and value of M&A deals in Portugal.

In this report, which provides an analysis of M&A activity on the Iberian Peninsula for 2021, PLMJ leads the Portuguese legal services tables both in total value of deals, at more than €6 billion, and in number of transactions, with 43.

In the individual rankings of Dealmakers, Duarte Schmidt Lino, partner and joint head of the Corporate M&A practice, stands out at the top of the list of lawyers responsible for advising on deals. This ranking is based on the assessment of two criteria: number of deals, with 20 deals handled, and value of deals. Corporate M&A partner, Filipe Avides Moreira also appears in the top 10 most active lawyers, with seven transactions.

Managing associate Alexander Ehlert comes in first place in the Rising Star Dealmakers rankings, which is based on the value of deals handled. The list also includes senior associate Ânia Cruz, who appears in second place.

In the rankings dedicated to private equity operations, PLMJ also stands out by occupying the first place in the ranking by number of deals, with 13 in total.

The TTR report also includes rankings for equity capital markets transactions. Here PLMJ and several of its lawyers appear in prominent positions. Partners André Figueiredo and Raquel Azevedo, from the areas of capital markets and banking and finance, appear on the list of Dealmakers. Associate Sara Asseiceiro appears on the list of Rising Stars.
