Tax Law - Francisco de Carvalho Furtado in the newspaper Jornal I

Francisco Carvalho Furtado, a senior associate in PLMJ’s tax area, spoke to the newspaper Jornal I for an article on the new state budget for 2010, about the "invitation to repatriate capital" and what specific measures applicable to funds held abroad and provided for in the 2010 state budget bill may come to mean for the country.

According to Francisco, "if the capital repatriation framework is undoubtedly a measure to increase tax income and to prevent tax fraud and evasion, its success will depend on the way in which those interested in making use of such a framework can be convinced of the beneficial effect that their involvement may bring in terms of the regularisation of their tax status in Portugal".
