Rita Aleixo Gregório, a partner in PLMJ's EU and Competition Law practice, spoke to Negócios about the possible harmonisation or standardisation of tax policies in the European Union.
According to the PLMJ specialist, "although the harmonisation and standardisation of tax policies could help to avoid the adoption of measures that violate state aid rules", one cannot "claim to be able to regulate everything or control all possible interpretations and applications of the rules", pointing out that "it doesn't seem that [tax] standardisation or harmonisation is necessary".
