The PLMJ Foundation and the Lisbon City Museum present the Exhibition “Options & Futures”: Works from the PLMJ Foundation Collection” to be inaugurated the next 21st of April by 22 pm. at the Museum’s Black and White Pavilions.

This project, included in the PLMJ Foundation activity line, is dedicated to the divulging of the Portuguese contemporary art through the works which are part of the Foundation’s own Collection.

Following the exhibitions dedicated to photography, video and to the eighties and the nineties, PLMJ Foundation promotes now a new project centered in new talents, thus tracing an overview of the Portuguese Modern Art Post - 2000.

Having Miguel Amado as its Commissar, the exhibition gathers more or less 80 pieces of art, from various kinds of art expressions by artists whose careers have started within the last years. Among these creators we may detach names like Adriana Molder, Bruno Pacheco, Carlos Bunga, Joana Pimentel, João Maria Gusmão + Pedro Paiva, Pedro Barateiro, Ricardo Jacinto, Ricardo Valentim, Rita Sobral Campos and Rodrigo Oliveira.

With this new edition of the” Options & Futures” PLMJ Foundation complies once again with its mission of divulging Portuguese contemporary art.

PLMJ Foundation, instituted by A.M. Pereira, Sáragga Leal, Oliveira Martins, Júdice and Associates under the theme ”A law firm with a space for culture” is one ot the main culture institutions in Portugal.

The Foundation supports Portuguese art developing a collection which is representative of the art production in our country and promoting exhibitions, art publications and other projects.

The Collection, on the other hand, including works from various forms of art ranging from painting, design, sculpture to photography and video, and counting not only with consecrated artists in its portfolio but also with others initiating their careers, contributes for the definition of the emerging art in our country.

The bet on new talents is a consequence of the innovative posture of the PLMJ Foundation and constitutes a pioneering initiative within the collection’s scenario in Portugal.
