"We are facing a situation where tax relief should be seriously considered"

Isaque Ramos, a partner in PLMJ's Tax practice area, believes that currently, "the most important thing is to approve tax measures that contribute to the recovery of companies and the economy in general". Speaking to the newspaper Jornal de Negócios, Isaque admits that there are no conditions "for a reduction in the tax burden" in 2022.

Analysing the measures that could improve the system, he suggests some alternatives: "a good measure would be to reduce bureaucracy in the relationship between the tax authorities and companies, similar to what already happens with the IRS, where there is 'real time' communication".
