Legislation to establish, organise and regulate a voluntary carbon market in Portugal has now come into force.
Among the various changes, it is worth noting that emissions that can be offset with carbon credits are not only residual emissions. Upstream, there is also a need to protect against the possible consequences of carbon sequestration reversals by creating a new insurance scheme.
