Associate in the EU and Competition Law practice.
Matilde is an associate in the European and Competition practice. She represents Portuguese and international clients in proceedings before the European Commission or the Competition Authority, as well as in civil liability proceedings for anti-competitive practices. Matilde has extensive experience in European and competition law, in particular in the defence of companies in cartel and abuse of dominant position cases, competition litigation, merger control, state aid and the implementation of compliance programmes.
Matilde holds a law degree from the Faculty of Law of Universidade Nova de Lisboa, an LL.M. in Competition Law from Queen Mary University of London and is currently studying for a Professional Certificate in European State Aid Law, awarded by Maastricht University in conjunction with Lexxion Publisher.
Prior to joining PLMJ, she completed summer traineeships at Garrigues and SPS Advogados and a curricular traineeship at Carlos Pinto de Abreu & Associados.
