Paulo is a partner in the Dispute Resolution practice. He has over 30 years of experience in criminal law, white collar crime, compliance, regulatory offences and sports law.
Between January and November 2012, Paulo was Vice-President of the Disciplinary Committee of the Lisbon Football Association, and until March 2013 he was a member of the Professional Football Committee of Sporting Clube de Portugal SAD.
Since 2020, he has been a member of the Professional Ethics Council of the Portuguese Bar Association (terms 2020-2022 and 2023-2025).
He holds a postgraduate degree in Accounting and Corporate Legal Advice from the Law Faculty of Universidade Católica Portuguesa, attended the postgraduate course in European Economic Criminal Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra and the Executive Course in Football Law at the Portugal Football School of the Portuguese Football Federation.
Paulo has participated in conferences and seminars on criminal law, criminal procedure, administrative offences, compliance and sports law.
He is a founding member of Fórum Penal, an association of criminal lawyers, and is a member of other professional associations such as the European Criminal Bar Association (ECBA), the Union Internationale des Avocats (UIA), the International Bar Association (IBA) and the Portuguese Sports Law Association (APDD), of which he is currently Vice-President.
