Teresa Madeira Afonso
Joined PLMJ in 2015.
Partner and co-head of the Real Estate and Tourism practice.
About Teresa
Teresa is a partner and co-head of the Real Estate and Tourism practice. With almost 20 years’ professional experience in the areas of commercial law, real estate and tourism.
Teresa focuses on structuring, negotiating and carrying out real estate and tourism sector M&A and private equity transactions, advising, also, on the set up and operation of investment and venture capitals funds, financing operations and corporate restructuring in various sectors of the real estate and tourism industries.
She also has experience in developing and operating large-scale agricultural projects.
In the tourism sector, Teresa advises some of the most important investors and operators in the Portuguese market, having deep experience in all legal phases of tourism projects, from acquisition to construction, licensing, management and operation of all types of tourism developments.
Teresa has an LL.M. from the University of Virginia, USA.
Before joining PLMJ, she was a lawyer at the law firm Uría Menéndez - Proença de Carvalho.
