About Rita
Rita is a partner in PLMJ's European law and competition practice with over 20 years' experience. Her practice focuses on advising public and private clients on state aid, cartels and other restrictive practices. She also has extensive experience in internal investigations and audits, competition training and compliance programmes.
With particular expertise in the civil aviation, distribution, energy, financial and waste management sectors, Rita represents clients before the Competition Authority, the European Commission and national and European courts.
Prior to joining PLMJ, Rita was a managing associate at VdA and a member of the Competition Authority's Restrictive Practices Unit.
Rita holds an LL.M. from King's College London with a specialisation in competition law. She also holds pos-graduate qualifications in economics for competition law, also from King's College London, and in competition and regulation and consumer law, both from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon.
